West (played by Yuen Wah from Kungfu Hustle), was a degenerate gambler who gambled on anything, from cards to racing. One day he met Ah Wong (Kwok Chun On) who was a waiter in a small restaurant, where West found out that Ah Wong was able to remember the location of all 144 mahjong tiles after playing three games. With Ah Wong’s good memory, West decided to teach him to play mahjong and make use of his talent to win big money. However, Auntie Fei (played by Yuen Qui from Kungfu Hustle), a retired “Queen of Mahjong� and owner of the restaurant did not want Ah Wong to become a gambler and forbade him to go out.

When Auntie Fei found out that Ah Wong had kept his contact with West and became a gambler in his leisure time, she fired him and cut off relations with him. Ah Wong then partnered West and their gambling reputation grew in the region.
Ah Wong fell in love with Cheryl and later found that she is Tin Gau’s mistress. Tin Gau was infuriated by her betrayal, he ordered his hit man to beat Ah Wong and sold Cheryl to a lowly whorehouse. After the beating, Ah Wong became an imbecile who suffered from amnesia and could no longer play mahjong. Auntie Fei was then persuaded by her daughter to cure Ah Wong, by using “Mahjong Shock Therapy�. After the therapy, Ah Wong not only regained most of his memory and power, but also became a master of KungFu Mahjong after intense training. Now Ah Wong is prepared to revenge Tin Gau in the “Master of Mahjong Tournament�.
